Pros: When this game came out, I can honestly say it was the most entertaining thing I had ever laid eyes upon. To a bright young gamer that had only experienced console games with a typical controller, this shiny new concept was a breath of fresh air and a great new way to experience gaming. It became a party center, with entertainment coming from you and your friends' abilities to rock that solo in "Howl at the Moon". As a girl that did play this, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and I relished in the accomplishment of beating the game on expert mode.
The franchise goes on strong, but this game in particular brings back the best memories because it was a new idea, great music, and awesome fun.
Cons: Activision bought up this franchise and drove it into the ground, so you can expect a good amount of smaller additions such as "Rock Band: Metallica Edition" and such. The new songs are nice, but these should have been added as DLC at a lower price or bundled in a new game with a much bigger song list.
The first Guitar Hero game does not have a practice room as other games have had, so all of your practice comes from being on stage. Screw up at 98%? Gotta do the whole thing over again!
