Pros: I liked “Antrim Escape 3,” but it was a little off-putting. You play as a pretty female, attempting to escape a mansion, by uncovering clues and solving object-based puzzles. Movement from room to room and viewing sections within each room is like old school “Myst” - point and click (well, point and “tap” on the iOS). I love “Myst” and I also liked feeling like I was playing with an intricate dollhouse, peeking under cushions and connecting small objects to unlock secret passages. As you discover more within the mansion, you learn more about the story – who trapped you and why. With so much uncertainty (the slow reveal of where the story is going and where you can go next), I found I enjoyed this feeling of ambiguity. It was delightfully off putting, but there was more that I found off putting in a very negative way (see the CON section).
Cons: I did not like playing as a trapped female dressed as a scantily clad house maid. I felt like Nancy Drew after a Leg Avenue makeover (for those of you unfamiliar with the brand, Leg Avenue manufactures all of those ****** Halloween costumes that appear on co-eds and MILFs every year). Why can’t an intelligent female character uncover clues in something with a bit more coverage?! Maybe something with pockets? A napkin for her cleavage, so small trinkets don’t fall in?
