TOP 10'd IT

Top review by: rizzonian

Pros: I had so much fun with this game. The guys and gals at Kairosoft took their typical style of game and added a sports franchise to it. You have the ability to totally build your team from the ground up and journey from a local football club all the way to a global power house. You can build buildings to help your club make money and increase your players stats. Hire coaches and players and level them up to make them elite.

Cons: Game can get repetitive after a while.

Pros: First off, this is a very detailed game and can provide a lot of hours of fun. The art is excellent and the game mechanics are easy and simple to use.

Cons: If you are a fan of the old school Heros of Might and Magic you might be disappointed with the limitations and more cartoonish graphics of the game.

Pros: “Wide Sky” is a good looking game – monochromatic with muted teal and red, and a deliberate graininess, similar to the crackle of an old home film; however the game play is needlessly difficult to pick up, let alone master, and a pretty game is just not enough to carry a frustrating mechanic.

Cons: As an aeronaut hedgehog, sans a blimp, the player flings this ball of quills into the air, and then navigates it by hooking and swinging on various objects in the sky. There is not a gradual tutorial of the mechanic, and the game is basically unplayable without the player devoting some serious time and effort to figuring out the navigation. Swinging the hedgehog is difficult, timing the hook is difficult, everything is needlessly difficult. Also there is no clear win condition...

Pros: “Fibble” is an arcade-inspired puzzle game with a physics-based tilt mechanic. As a rollie-pollie, miniature alien, who has crash landed in an artfully messy farmhouse, the player rolls this smiling ball of a space invader through makeshift paths.

Cons: The mechanic is simple enough. Swipe a line to get the alien rolling, tap over manholes to jump, and tilt the device to navigate the roll. The characters, the goals; it’s all so generic. Other aliens have crash-landed into this makeshift play land, and none of them have the charm of a distinct personality; they are only function. You even have to collect three stars for bonus points and the constructed paths with arrows pointing the way have nothing to do with the...

Pros: “Wave Trip” is an ambient arcade music game in an abstract world of shapes. As a flying triangle with an all seeing eye and two floating suns, the player needs only two buttons – a shield and a booster to fly higher in an open landscape. Each level includes other floating shapes that are to be collected or avoided. Differentiating the bad shapes from the good is made easier when one remembers that pink is evil in any world. Also each shape houses a sound, which is released when...

Cons: The abstract shapes and sound elements seem inspired by the charms of “Pixel Junk” games; however, “Wave Trip” is a cold world and the sounds sometimes seemed unintentionally discordant.
